7th RAL CRC in Lisbon, Portugal

From 13th to 14th October, 2008

The 7th RAL CRC hosted in Lisbon was RAL’s first exposure to the beautiful city of Lisbon, with its unique culture, a mix of Spanish, Portuguese and Moorish. The Welcome party was held in the Hotel while the concluding dinner was in an old part of Lisbon with cobbled streets full of history. The entertainment was Traditional Portuguese story-telling in a singing style. It carried a lot of emotion even for those who didn’t understand the language.
The 8th Air Conditioning Seminar was held on the last day. It dedicated, among other topics, to the Comparative Analysis of Energy Efficiency Policies and Indoor Air Quality in Europe and the United States, with the presence of ASHRAE “Distinguished Lecturers” and National experts. Furthermore, there was discussion of two issues of great relevance in Portugal: the implementation of the Tobacco Law, and the application of the IAQ and Energy Certification for existing buildings. The Seminar proved to be of great success as did the CRC.
Jorge and his team were wonderful hosts and did a commendable job of hosting a successful CRC.
