Free webinar: Infection Control and Isolation Rooms Part II

Description:
Out of the social responsibility of ASHRAE Cairo chapter towards the HVAC-R community, we proudly present you this webinar about infection control and Isolation Rooms. Presented by a group of Cairo’s elite Egyptian scientists in the field hoping that it will increase public awareness of the importance of this topic especially with the current spreading epidemic.

Part II webinar will consist of two 30 minutes sessions with a break of 15 minutes in between them and free time at the end to answer all your questions.

6th International Symposium about Alternative Refrigerants for High Ambient Temperature Countries

ASHRAE Region-at-Large is organizing “the 6th Symposium of Alternative Refrigerants for High Ambient Temperature (HAT) Countries” jointly with UN Environment Program (UNEP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA), and Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) scheduled during the period (3 – 4) March 2020 in Conrad Dubai hotel.  The symposium is also supported by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCE) of UAE.

The 6th edition of the Symposium will be under the theme of “Are we ready to use alternative refrigerants?”. It also intends to shed light on the comprehensive approach need to be followed for deploying lower-GWP alternative refrigerant either by industry or governments.

The symposium will be attended by more than 300 industry representatives, international associations/institutes, standardization authorities, regional research institutes as well as international/regional experts from all HAT countries (more than 30 countries from all over the world).

An overview of outcomes of recent relevant research projects, and presentations of work on risk assessment models suitable for HAT countries will be an area of focus in this symposium.

The Future of Refrigerants: Challenges and Opportunities (MENA)

This training provides a background review of international treaties and initiatives that support the transition from hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) and hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants towards non-ozone-depleting (ODP), low-global-warming-potential (GWP) substances. A review of proposed refrigerants and how they can be used in different HVAC&R applications based on theoretical and empirical analyses is discussed. Challenges and opportunities associated with the different types of refrigerants: hydrofluoroolefins and natural refrigerants are presented. Relevant refrigerant options for high ambient temperature (HAT) environments, and standards, codes of systems and substances are also covered. Finally, the course wraps up with a discussion on the systems perspective and how to best understand the opportunities for energy-efficiency improvements. This would include an introduction to free modeling tools such as the online ORNL Heat Pump Design Model.
